In 1883, Cheyenne's Lawn Tennis club was built on Sixteenth street (exact location unknown) on a 132'
square corner or quarter of a block, with a bowling alley 75' long connected to the club room.
The building was designed by Mr. Rainsford. In April 1889, Lockwood Hebard was listed as secretary of the Cheyenne Lawn Tennis Club, a Class I club. In February 1890 a bowling club was organized. By 1891, the bowling alley was removed as the area was used for a practice shoot by the Cheyenne Guards. |
